Aberdeen & Northern Estates strengthens team with new appointment

Aberdeen and Northern (Estates) Limited, part of the ANM Group which is one of the UK’s largest producer-owned farming, food and finance businesses, is expanding its team further with a new appointment - to meet the increasing demands of the North and North East of Scotland property market.

Prompted by strong growth in the agency and valuation business, further talent has been recruited to the multi-disciplined team of six to enhance the service in the region.  James Craig, MA (Hons) MLE MRICS, brings a wealth of rural estate management experience from his previous role of four years as a Land Agent and his responsibilities as a Rural Surveyor will primarily focus on the business’s extensive valuation work.

James’ roots are firmly in the agricultural industry, coming from a family business of livestock auctioneers in Ayrshire.  James graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2010 prior to enrolling in a Masters in Land Economy and achieving Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors registered valuer status.

The Estates team – providing a comprehensive variety of professional rural and property services – has a prime location based at ANM Group’s agri-hub at Thainstone Centre, Inverurie. The business has recently reported record success in 2014 and been highly visible in the first quarter of 2015 having sold or put under offer 20 equipped farms and bare land or woodland opportunities.

James Murphy, Head of Aberdeen and Northern (Estates) Limited said: “We have strengthened significantly in recent years and this appointment demonstrates our commitment to deliver on the increased demand for professional services in the rural property sector.  This is an opportune time to join us; a strong team is fundamental and I am confident that James can help take our business to the next level and build on our reputation.”

James Craig, 27, said: “I am delighted to join the team at such a defining time for the business; the team has ambitious plans for continued growth and I am keen to deliver on my part through this exciting role.”
